Surface Mount and NTC Chip Components - Gold and Silver Chips
Measurement Specialties offers a range of high reliability gold and silver terminated leadless chips suitable for today’s hybrid microelectronics requirements and are available in a range of resistance curves and tolerances. Applications include localised temperature sensing, temperature compensation, protection, and frequency control for sensitive communications systems and infrared sensing equipment.
Measurement Specialties has experience manufacturing highly accurate and stable temperature sensors for measurement, control, indication and compensation. The interchangeability of their precision components allows precise measurement without calibration of circuitry to match individual components. Applications include general temperature sensing and compensation network applications in circuits that require dependable NTC thermistor characteristics.

Measurement Specialties capabilities allow them to engineer and manufacture custom thermistor probe solutions to meet individual specifications by combining a thermistor component, probe housing, lead configuration and connector where a surface, air, gas or liquid temperature sensor probe is required. They can engineer probes designed specifically for customer requirements ensuring that design challenges are overcome, that the probe will be cost-effective in high volumes and that the customer has specific revision control.
Measurement Specialties offers a range of thermopiles for non-contacting temperature sensing and gas concentration sensing. Thermopiles are created by lining up multiple thermocouples in series. If a temperature difference is induced between a hot junction connecting two thermocouples and their open ends (cold junctions), a voltage is created.
Thermopiles are available as components, modules on ceramic board or custom OEM systems. Eight element linear arrays are available for broader sensing areas for use in such things as microwaves and stovetop hoods. Applications include thermometers, room air conditioners, toasters, hair dryers, pyrometers, car climate controls, gas-detection and sensing of a person based on body temperature.

Humidity Sensors
Measurement Specialties humidity sensors are designed to improve performance, reduce energy consumption and increase safety. In any environment where temperature affects performance, compensating for humidity should also be considered. Typical applications for humidity sensors include automotive, appliances, HVAC and medical.
Measurement Specialties recently acquired Humirel, a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative humidity and temperature sensors. Humirel’s proprietary manufacturing processes, derived from the semiconductor industry, are strictly controlled to guarantee consistent output. A high level of automation in the board assembly process makes these humidity/temperature sensors ideal for high volume production required for large OEM programs. Humidity sensors are available as sense components, assemblies with voltage (analog) output or PCB modules for frequency (digital) output.
In addition to their standard product offerings, Measurement Specialties provides quality technical support and works closely with customers to develop competitively priced application specific modules to meet the custom demands of large OEM projects.
Based on a unique capacitive cell, the relative humidity and temperature sensors from Measurement Specialties are designed for high volume, cost sensitive applications such as office automation, automotive cabin, air control, home appliances, and industrial process control systems. They are useful in all applications where humidity compensation is needed.
